PFF Health Center

Serving the community of Kihara, Uganda since 2015.

Joseph Masereka serves as the Nurse in charge, and he sees an average of about 75 patients each month. Before the health center was built, people had to walk about 6 miles through mountainous terrain to get to the nearest health facility, and many went without basic healthcare.

Illnesses Treated

The most common ailments that Masereka treats are malaria and respiratory tract infections. These issues are treatable, but can be deadly if left untreated.

Malaria rates have plummeted.

Since PFF built the health center in 2015, rates of malaria in the region have dropped consistently and significantly. This is in part due to our mosquito net distribution campaigns and the construction of a water tank that provides clean water to the community.
