By supporting the creation of cut/sew and pattern making schools and workshops, Paper Fig provides vocational training to women and girls who have left school and are interested in gaining skills and pursuing a career in garment making. Additionally, these schools train workers to fill a void in the urban market’s emerging fashion industry.

PFF works with three vocational institutes in Mityana, Uganda. These institutes will provide much needed trained seamstresses for the growing fashion industry in Uganda, and will become a very important first step in building a professional class base. When properly trained, there are new levels of job opportunities open to the population.
