Paper Fig Alumni Association

When graduates of the Paper Fig Skills Training Institute realized that they wanted to stay connected to the Foundation, they formed their own group called the Paper Fig Alumni Association. These graduates were committed to putting their newfound skills to use. So the Paper Fig Foundation grew. We moved to a new location that could house the Skills Training Students and keep a separate room with 8 sewing machines strictly for the Alumni Association. They alumni share the machines as they work to create their own designs to sell at the market.

The Paper Fig Foundation finances master classes with designers from Uganda's capital city of Kampala to train the alumni in new skills. Paper Fig also established a seed loan program so that members of the Alumni Association can apply for loans to purchase initial materials or pay for other startup costs associated with launching a new business.
