Stand With Afghan Women

What a beautiful evening, coming together around the Afghan Rubab to dance, eat, and connect. We are so lucky to be free to listen to this music, to dance to it, to celebrate it. Right now, dancing is outlawed in Afghanistan and most women and girls are banned from school and work. There is responsibility that comes with this freedom, and even as we celebrate the beauty of true Afghan culture, we also support the Afghan people who are living with intense repression. At our first collaboration with Temur Zamani and his shop, Zamani Heritage, PFF was able to raise $2600 to be distributed among eleven Afghan women and their families. This will pay for basic survival for those in Afghanistan, and will contribute to the mounting immigration expenses of those trying to get to a more free society.

WATCH AND LISTEN TO THE RUBAB SOUNDS

Thanks to all who came out to celebrate Afghan culture with us. There is so much more than what you hear on the news. Stay tuned for our next Stand With Afghan Women event this summer!
